It's easy to forget blues guitarist Matt "Mojo" Tedder's age when you hear him play. His skills far surpass what you would expect from a 13 year old young man who has only been playing the guitar for 5 years. Matt shows his maturity in his conversations, and gets around his instrument with an equal amount of skill and confidence. Matt's favorite guitar players are: B.B King, Steve Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin. One of his dreams is to open for B.B. King or play with ZZ Top. Matt has met B.B. King twice. The first time was very brief, but he did get B.B. King's autograph. The second time, Matt was more comfortable and spoke with B.B. King for 30 minutes about his guitar playing. Matt says that King stressed the importance of a good education and doing well in school. In spite of his recent acclaim, Matt remains a friendly, polite young
man who is also interested in fishing, golf (he really, really, really
likes golf), basketball and playing pool. |
